On 4th October, a meeting was held at the University of Warsaw between Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, and the Mongolian delegation. Among the guests of the University were Dorj Barkhas, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mongolia to Poland, and Gantulga Davagdorj, Defence Attaché of the Republic of Mongolia.

The discussion was mainly focused on the development of the cooperation with Mongolian universities in terms of the student and academic teachers exchange, with an emphasis on the promotion of cultural education and intensification of joint activities. The participants also mentioned, among other things, the contribution of Mongolian and Tibetan study programmes representatives from the UW’s Faculty of Oriental Studies for building mutual relations.

“There is a growing interest in Asian culture among young people. We want to make it possible not only for students of the UW’s Faculty of Oriental Studies, but for all those who would like to study in Mongolia. I encourage students to follow their interests and see how Asian countries are developing,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, said.

The representatives of the Mongolian delegation expressed their willingness to develop the cooperation in other fields as well.

“I have been working in Poland for three years and I am very pleased with our initiatives in education and direct contacts with universities. At the University of Warsaw, we have particularly good cooperation with biologists, geologists and archaeologists,” Dorj Barkhas, the Ambassador of Mongolia to Poland, emphasised.
