Are you going to study at the University of Warsaw? Do you have any questions or doubts regarding university procedures, facilities and services? Do not worry. You are invited to visit our Welcome Point. The official opening of WP will be on 15th September at 9 am. In September and October, the WP will be located on the main campus of UW. Throughout the year, it is available at www.welcome.uw.edu.pl.

The number of international students in Poland continues to grow. Currently, there are 4 400 international students who study at the University of Warsaw, half of whom study on long-term programmes. The other group comprises participants in academic exchange programmes such as Erasmus+.

– Learning from the best universities from abroad, we are planning to introduce a series of initiatives enabling international students, who study at the UW, to feel even more comfortable. The Welcome Point is one of those projects – says Assistant Professor Maciej Duszczyk, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations of the UW.

The Welcome Point is the central information service point for international students – both who come to the UW for one semester and those who pursue the whole cycle of their studies. WP Team will make your transition to UW and life in Warsaw as smooth as possible.

International students will obtain information regarding various university matters. WP team will assist students in dealing with formalities, explaining how to register for courses, how to use university library, and how to apply for an electronic student card. They will also provide information about student organisations, language possibilities, cultural and sport activities as well as living in Warsaw. For more information, please visit www.welcome.uw.edu.pl.

– If you are not sure who can answer your questions and deal with your matters, I will be glad to help you out with problems concerning University procedures and student life, and direct you to the right place – says Ms. Katarzyna Basisty, the Welcome Point Coordinator.

WP cooperates closely with the Admissions Office, the International Relations Office, the Office for Student Affairs and other University units.

From 15th September until the end of October, the WP office will be located on the main campus of UW (in the small courtyard). It will be open from Monday to Friday, 9.30 am – 4.30 pm. Throughout the year, it is available at www.welcome.uw.edu.pl.
