On 8th June the results of the 17th nationwide ranking of higher education institutions were released. The University of Warsaw was ranked first.

The ranking is organized by monthly magazine “Perspektywy” and daily newspaper “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”. The UW received 100 points and was placed first. It has been recognized as the best university in Poland. The UW was 1.8 point ahead of the Jagiellonian University – the biggest competitor against which the University competes since the beginning of this ranking.

 

Authors of the ranking compared 90 Polish universities and colleges. They ranked them according to the following categories: scientific effectiveness, prestige, scientific potential, internationalization of studies, learning conditions, innovativeness.

 

Defining the goals of the University of Warsaw, its rector, professor Marcin Pałys, said: – We strive to conduct such scientific research that would have a serious and important impact on the development of world science and be visible from both national and international perspective.
