On 18th November, the Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy” conference began in the Senate Hall of the Kazimierzowski Palace. The event is devoted to the impact of new technologies on democracy and human rights. Bjørn Berge, the Council of Europe’s Deputy Secretary General, gave the keynote speech.

 

Bjørn Berge serves as the Council of Europe’s Deputy Secretary General as of March 2021. He is involved in several key areas of the work of the organisation, including advising and overseeing the implementation of the Secretary General’s reform agenda, in line with the decisions and priorities of the Committee of Ministers. Bjørn Berge has over thirty years of international professional experience. As a former Norwegian diplomat, he served as International Adviser to the Prime Minister and as Deputy Director of the Foreign Minister’s Cabinet responsible for all matters related to Parliament. He also served as a speechwriter to three Norwegian Foreign Ministers.

 

The University of Warsaw and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Poland organise the two-day Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy” conference on the impact of new technologies on democracy and human rights.

 

The conference began on 18th November at 5 pm in the Senate Hall of the Kazimierzowski Palace (Krakowskie Przedmieście Street 26/28). The panel sessions will be held on 19th November from 10:00–16:15 in the 0.410 room in the UW building on Dobra Street 55.
