On 19th June in the Kazimierzowski Palace, the University of Warsaw representatives met a delegation from Tianjin University. The meeting concerned academic cooperation. Both institutions expressed their wish to strengthen the relations in the fields of medicine, law, and mathematics.

The University of Warsaw has been cooperating with Tianjin University since 2018. Back then, both universities signed an agreement (Memorandum of Understanding) on the academic mobility, cooperative research and academic activities, i.e. research and didactic programmes as well as cultural and artistic activities.

 

On 19th June, the second meeting between representatives of the two universities was held at the University of Warsaw. It was attended by Prof. Zygmunt Lalak, the UW Vice-Rector for Research, and other academics from the UW: Prof. Ewa Bulska, the Director of the Biological and Chemical Research Centre, Dr Małgorzata Religa, Prof. Agata Bareja-Starzyńska, and Dr Józef Pawłowski from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, and Prof. Adam Osękowski from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics.

 

The Chinese delegation comprised six members, including representatives from the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, the School of Mathematics, and the School of Electrical and Information Engineering.

During the meeting, the researchers from both universities presented their units and discussed the possibility of enhancing cooperation in scientific fields such as medicine, mathematics, law, chemistry, biology, or sinology.
