On 13th June, the University of Warsaw hosted a meeting between its authorities and the representatives of the University of Tsukuba. “Our relations with Japanese universities are very good and the UW students are open to new exchange opportunities,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, said, welcoming the guests.
During the meeting on 13th June in Kazimierzowski Palace, the authorities of both universities signed an agreement prolonging the cooperation between the UW and the University of Tsukuba.
“Our relations with Japanese universities are very good and the UW students are open to new exchange opportunities,” Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW rector said. Prof. Nowak also indicated that the University of Warsaw is interested in extending the existing cooperation and hosting the researchers from the University of Tsukuba.
The main topic of the discussion was an initiative “Campus-in-Campus”, which is overseen by the University of Tsukuba. It is an alliance of universities, which share research and educational resources of their campuses. The principles and achievements of the programme were presented by Prof. Kyosuke Nagata, the President of the University of Tsukuba.
The University of Warsaw was represented by Prof. Sambor Grucza, the Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Human Resources, Prof. Zygmunt Lalak, the Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Piotr Taracha, the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Prof. Agnieszka Kozyra, the Head of the Chair of Japanese Studies and Dr Anna Sadecka, the Head of the International Relations Office.
The delegation from the University of Tsukuba included: Prof. Osamu Ohneda, Executive Officer, the Director General for Bureau of Global Initiatives and Prof. Toshinobu Usuyama from the Institute of Humanities and Social.
