Stress and difficult emotions are a natural part of life. We would like to remind you that the University of Warsaw offers a free guideYour Mind – Your Strength, which shows how small everyday actions can support mental well-being.
The University of Warsaw Psychological Support Center provides assistance to students, doctoral candidates, and university employees in situations of overload, low mood, or when there is a need for a conversation.
“We offer support to our entire academic community. Studying, professional work, and personal life can all bring about moments of crisis. We are not always able to cope with them on our own,” says Mariusz Moderski, deputy head of the UW Psychological Support Center, adding: “Reaching out for help is a sign of maturity.”
In the publication Your Mind – Your Strength, you can read, among other things, that:
- mental health is the ability to cope with challenges, not the absence of difficulties;
- the body and mind are interconnected;
- psychological resilience develops gradually through rest, relationships, and habits;
- all emotions are natural and important;
- contact with nature, sleep, digital hygiene, and taking breaks during the day help maintain balance.
The guide offers practical tips on coping with overstimulation, pressure, and stress, as well as building micro-habits that strengthen one’s sense of agency.
All members of the academic community – students, doctoral students, and employees of the University of Warsaw – can access suport from the UW Psychological Support Center and the helpline: +48 22 55 24 424.
