Representatives from over 50 universities associated with the UNICA network will discuss research collaboration in a changing environment and the security of research data. The two-day meeting at the University of Warsaw will begin on 25th September. Registration is required.

The UNICA (Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe) network has been operating since 1990 and currently connects 56 universities, including the University of Warsaw. It provides a forum for the exchange of experiences between the authorities and staff of European universities. UNICA organises annual meetings dedicated to research at the European level.

This year’s event will be held at the University of Warsaw on 25th and 26th September, under the theme “Strengthening Research Collaboration in a Changing Landscape: Shared Research Infrastructures and Research Data Security”.

Key points of discussion:
  • universities as key shapers of the research landscape;
  • open science;
  • open access and data protection;
  • data management.

The event will be attended by university representatives, including the University of Warsaw’s Vice-Rector for Research Prof. Zygmunt Lalak, experts in scientific research at the European Union level, scientists, and specialists in research infrastructure, data management, and security. Experts who will speak during the thematic panels include Prof. Barbara Wagner from the UW Faculty of Archaeology, Konrad Zawadzki, Deputy Director of the UW Center for Biological and Chemical Sciences, and Jakub Szprot from the UW Interdisciplinary Center for Mathematical and Computational Modeling.
