Prof. Ewa Krogulec, Vice-Rector for Development at the University of Warsaw, has been appointed to the Regional Council for Nature Conservation in Warsaw for the 2025–2030 term.
The Regional Council for Nature Conservation (PL: Regionalna Rada Ochrony Przyrody, RROP) is an advisory and consultative body to the regional director for environmental protection. The Council includes scientists, representatives of environmental organisations, the provincial council, and the State Forests.
The Council’s tasks include reviewing the work of and advising the regional director for environmental protection, presenting proposals and opinions on nature conservation issues, and reviewing provincial development plans and strategies for nature conservation.
Prof. Ewa Krogulec will serve on the Council for the second time. She was first appointed to the RROP for the 2020–2025 term.
Prof. Ewa Krogulec is a geologist. She conducts hydrogeological research, with particular emphasis on the protection of groundwater status and quality. She is the author or co-author of approximately 200 scientific publications: articles, chapters in monographs, monographs, and maps. She has led over 40 research projects in the fields of geology, hydrogeology, and environmental protection. She holds a PhD in Earth Sciences in the field of hydrogeology, a postdoctoral degree in Earth Sciences, and in 2018, she was awarded the title of professor by the President of the Republic of Poland. In 2012–2020, she served as dean of the Faculty of Geology at the University of Warsaw. Since 2020, she has served as Vice-Rector for Development at the University of Warsaw.
