The “Mentoring Programme” is implemented as part of the Initiative for Excellence – Research University (IDUB) Programme. Thanks to it, mentoring or expert visits by outstanding academics from foreign-renowned universities and research institutions take place at the University of Warsaw. On 6th November, the UW will host a mentoring visit of Prof. Dan W. Puchniak from Singapore Management University who will give a lecture.

The objective of the “Mentoring Programme” is to provide opportunities for researchers from the University of Warsaw to join teams implementing significant projects, by enabling them to build an international network of contacts with scientists from universities in other countries, including prominent researchers.

 

On 6th November, the University of Warsaw will host a mentoring visit by Prof. Dan W. Puchniak, who will deliver a lecture entitled “Corporate Purpose. Some Comparative Remarks.”

 

Prof. Dan W. Puchniak is a lecturer at the Yong Pung How School of Law (YPHSL) at Singapore Management University, the Director of the YPHSL Centre for Commercial Law in Asia, the Inaugural Director of the Asian Corporate Law Forum, and a Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). He is an internationally recognized scholar in the field of comparative corporate law and governance, with a focus on Asia. The scholar has received numerous domestic and international awards for his academic research and teaching – most recently, the 2023 ECGI Cleary Gottlieb Law Prize. Prof. Puchniak has given over 100 invited lectures at leading universities, government institutions, international organizations, stock exchanges, and companies worldwide.

 

The visit is organised as part of the IDUB Mentoring Programme.
