Professor De Witt Sumners from Florida State University will give an open lecture “DNA Knots Reveal Enzyme Mechanism and Viral Capsid Packing Geometry”. The lecture will be held on 21th September  (11.45 AM – 12.15 PM) in the Auditorium of the Old Library Building (Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28).

Open lecture is a apart of a meeting “Significance of Knotted Structures for Function of Proteins and Nucleic Acids”, September 17-21, 2014, organized by The Biophysical Society with the Polish Biophysical Society. University of Warsaw is the host of the conference. Attracting both experimentalists and theoreticians in the fields of biophysics, biology, and mathematics, this meeting will explore topics related to knotting, linking, and general entanglement in proteins and nucleic acids, and their relationship to folding and function.
