Prof. Ewa Żebrowska and Prof. Agnieszka Leńko-Szymańska from the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, Dr Magdalena Łazicka from the Faculty of Biology, and Dr Bartosz Wołodkiewicz from the Faculty of Law and Administration are among the eleven academics from 4EU+ Alliance universities who were selected in the 4EU+ Visiting Professorships mobility programme. Thanks to the initiative, UW researchers will work on their research and educational projects for several months at the University of Milan, Sorbonne University, and Charles University in Prague.

The Visiting Professorships programme seeks to enhance collaboration between the eight member universities of the 4EU+ Alliance: the University of Warsaw, Charles University, Sorbonne University, the University of Heidelberg, the University of Copenhagen, the University of Milan, the University of Geneva, and Paris-Panthéon-Assas University.

 

Thirty-four academics from all 4EU+ universities submitted their applications in the second edition of the programme. Eleven candidates have been selected to spend two or three months at a 4EU+ partner university, conducting research or educational projects related to the 4EU+ flagship programmes.

 

Among the selected researchers are four from the University of Warsaw: Prof. Ewa Żebrowska and Prof. Agnieszka Leńko-Szymańska from the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, Dr Magdalena Łazicka from the Faculty of Biology, and Dr Bartosz Wołodkiewicz from the Faculty of Law and Administration.

Selected academic staff from the UW:
  • Ewa Żebrowska will carry out a project addressing the importance of multilingualism in supporting a common European identity. It involves analysing social discourse on multilingualism and developing digital tools to enhance multilingual potential, aiming to promote linguistic diversity and inclusivity. The host university is the University of Milan.
  • Prof Agnieszka Leńko-Szymańska will work on a project that seeks to expand the studied corpus to the linguistic contexts of all member countries. It aims to analyse fluency features, lexical features, and teacher attitudes in the English Teacher Corpus, offering valuable insights for improving teacher training programs. The host university is Charles University in Prague.
  • Dr Magdalena Łazicka will work on a project related to artificial photosynthesis and green energy. The biologist will design new biohybrid devices. The host university is Sorbonne University.
  • Dr Bartosz Wolodkiewicz will conduct a project focusing on the codification of European Civil Procedure, analysing regulations and their backgrounds. The host university is the University of Milan.
