Prof. Agnieszka Nogal from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw was awarded an honorary doctorate from Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University in Georgia.
Prof. Agnieszka Nogal was awarded an honorary doctorate in recognition of her outstanding academic achievements and merits related to the implementation of joint research and educational programmes. The award ceremony took place on 16th September in Zugdidi, Georgia.
Prof. Agnieszka Nogal works at the UW’s Faculty of Philosophy, where she heads the Department of Political Philosophy. Her research interests include political culture, human rights, feminism and biopolitics. She also engages in research related to the concept of human rights. She is the author of books and articles on the implementation of human rights, the relationship between international and national law (e.g. Prawa człowieka i obywatela w zglobalizowanym świecie, book published in 2016) and the importance of political culture. Prof. Nogal is one of the founders and co-editor of the “Civitas. Studies in the Philosophy of Politics” journal. She has directed various research projects for many years, including Demokratyczne państwo prawa wobec wyzwań związanych z COVID-19 (ENG: Democratic Rule of Law in the face of COVID-19 challenges).
She has been working with Georgian institutions on a number of projects over the years. Recently, she participated as a keynote speaker in the autumn school organised in Georgia under the Constitution and the Crisis of the Constitution theme.
