On 28th November the Faculty of Physics organizes the Historical Day and the exhibition about Albert Einstein and the general theory of relativity.

Six lectures will be given during the Historical Dayfor instance: “Einstein’s ‘The Meaning of Relativity’ Revisited”, “Theory of relativity in Poland before 1939″ or “Back to the Future: How Einstein’s Road to General Relativity Provides Clues to Its Future”.

Among speakers are Prof. Michał Heller, Prof. Andrzej K. Wróblewski or Prof. Marek Demiański. Detailed program of the Historical Day is available on the website of the Polish Society on Relativity.

The exhibition titled “The road to relativity” will be available from 23rd to 28th at the Faculty of Physics (Pasteura Street 5).

Both, the exhibition and the Historical Day accompanying the conference100 years of General Relativity”.

This event is a joined idea of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, the Stefan Banach International Mathematical Center and the Polish Society of Relativity.

The scientific conference is based on topics from the mathematical structure of general relativity and fundamental issues of the classical gravity, through the mathematical models of quantum gravity, to gravitational waves and their detection.

The speakers are the experts representing world centers of mathematical relativity and gravitational physics. This event will take place at the Stefan Banach International Mathematical Center (Śniadeckich Street 8) from 23rd to 27th November.

A program and more information about the conference are available on the website of the Polish Society on Relativity.
