On 24th May, the renovated UW’s Holiday Home “Wrzos” in Kościelisko was officially opened. The facility is prepared to accommodate employees, doctoral candidates, persons with disabilities and pensioners of the University of Warsaw.

The UW’s Holiday Home “Wrzos” is located in Kościelisko, in the vicinity of the Tatra National Park. The facility is open to employees, doctoral candidates, persons with disabilities and pensioners of the University of Warsaw. The building, managed by the UW since 1973, has been redecorated recently and officially opened on 24th May.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by the UW Chancellor, Robert Grey, who spoke on behalf of the Rector, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak.

 

“I am very happy that we can reopen the Holiday Home “Wrzos” in this picturesque location, in the Tatra National Park. I hope that this facility will serve our academic community for a long time,” the Chancellor said.

 

 

The holiday home offers single and twin rooms, suites for three and four persons. Check-in time is at 3 pm, check-out at 12 pm. Breakfast is served between 8 am – 10 am. In the hotel guests can store their winter sports equipment (e.g. skis). They can also play table tennis, rent bikes and e-bikes, go to a gym. The building is accessible for people with disabilities.

 

Those interested in staying at the Holiday Home “Wrzos” are required to register their arrival through the DocSense system, or personally in the UW’s Office for Social Benefits at the Main Campus (Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28).
