The event was an opportunity to discuss achievements to date in academic cooperation and to outline future prospects. The meeting highlighted the growing role of international academic cooperation in developing innovative research and educating students in an intercultural environment. Cooperation with Taiwanese universities
The University of Warsaw has direct academic cooperation agreements with several Taiwanese universities, including one of the top two Taiwanese universities – ranked 65th in the QS World Ranking 2025 – National Taiwan University. Cooperation at both university-wide and faculty levels (particularly with the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies and the Faculty of Oriental Studies) includes student and employee exchanges and the Erasmus+ programme.
In the academic year 2024/2025, 5 students from our university will go to the National University of Taiwan, while 19 students from Taiwan will come to the UW, mainly through bilateral agreements. In addition, 6 students from Taiwan are studying full-time at the UW.
The University of Warsaw benefits from scholarship programmes offered by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, such as the Taiwan Scholarship Program and the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship. Cooperation is also strengthened by agreements with the Taipei Representative Office in Poland, whose support includes the teaching of Chinese at the UW and the funding of cultural and academic initiatives.
