The Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of UW is one of the partners in a programme offering fellowships for conservators and archaeologists from Near Eastern and North African countries.

 

The scholarships of the UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme in Archaeology and Conservation are awarded on PCMA recommendation by the Polish UNESCO Committee. The fellows get a special training programme in the fields of archaeology, heritage protection and management, and conservation in partner institutions, which include the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw.

 

In 2017/2018 a pilot edition of the programme was held. The fellowships were then awarded to two conservators from Egypt and an archaeologist from Syria.

 

Applications for the 2018/2019 programme have just started. Young researchers from Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Lybia, Marocco, Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey can send their applications until 30th April 2018.

 

The programme is co-sponsored by the Polish UNESCO Committee and Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
