The fourth edition of a survey is being held at the University of Warsaw to assess the degree of implementation of the principles of the European Charter for Researchers at the university. The survey is available until 7th July.

In 2014, the UW Rector signed a Declaration of Support for the Application of the Principles of the European Charter for Researchers. Since then, the university has been adapting its internal procedures and regulations to the recommendations collected in the European documents. In 2016, the European Commission awarded UW the prestigious “HR Excellence in Research” award (for more on the award, see the tab on the UW website).

A number of initiatives and measures have been implemented at the University of Warsaw to improve the environment and working conditions for researchers, including the creation of a Welcome Point to support persons from abroad, the building of an equality team that undertakes a number of initiatives to level the chances between men and women, the creation of a section that offers a wide range of training and development programmes for academic teachers, and the expansion of the Psychological and Counselling Services Centre to support people experiencing difficulties – Prof. Sambor Grucza, the UW Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Human Resources said.

Survey In the autum of 2025, the University of Warsaw will report on the activities implemented since 2022 and the action plan for the period ending in 2027. The opinion of UW academics on the degree of implementation of the above-mentioned principles, expressed in a survey developed by the UW Educational Quality Evaluation Laboratory, will be included in the action plan for the following years.
