On 29th August, Karol Nawrocki, President of Poland, met with Rectors of Polish universities and representatives of science and business at the University of Warsaw. At the Centre of New Technologies on the Ochota Campus, the President signed a draft bill on the Breakthrough Technology Development Fund.

“Welcome to the University of Warsaw, Mr. President. Representatives of the best Polish universities and scientific institutions have come to today’s meeting. Enormous progress has been made over the last years. We have wonderful young people. Pupils, students, and doctoral candidates achieve excellent results at international competitions, especially related to artificial intelligence. We hope to develop cooperation in the field of research and new technologies,” said Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, welcoming guests to the UW’s Centre of New Technologies.

On 29th August, Karol Nawrocki, President of Poland, met with rectors, scientists, and business representatives. During the visit, a draft law on the Breakthrough Technology Development Fund was signed.

“It is a great honour and a significant commitment that we are facing today as I sign this initiative at the Centre of New Technologies at the University of Warsaw, which shows how laboratories of the future and entrepreneurship can influence our lives and how to effectively carry out an academic mission that benefits our everyday lives,” said Karol Nawrocki, President of Poland.

The assumptions of the bill were presented by Antoni Rytel, co-author of the draft.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Rector’s and Chancellor’s authorities of the University of Warsaw, Rectors of Polish universities, representatives of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland and the National Security Bureau.
