The University of Warsaw has recorded record levels of interest from applicants in this year’s admissions process. According to preliminary, partial data, 37,600 applicants submitted and paid for 74,800 applications, which is one of the best results in the university’s history.

In total, the following were recorded:

  • 65,500 paid applications for first- and long-cycle degree programmes;
  • 9,300 paid applications for second-cycle degree programmes.

The programmes attracting the greatest interest in terms of the number of paid registrations were:

  • economics; finance and accounting; econometrics and Data Science (full-time first-cycle programmes) – 3,494 registrations;
  • management (full-time first-cycle programme) – 3,142 registrations;
  • psychology (full-time, long-cycle programme) – 2,943 registrations.

The highest ratio of applicants per place was recorded in the following degree programmes:

  • medicine – 32.78 applicants per place (1,967 paid registrations for a quota of 60 places);
  • Business and Management – 26.23 applicants per place (1,049 registrations with a limit of 40 places);
  • Asian and African Cultures – Japanese Studies – 19.12 applicants per place (478 registrations with a limit of 25 places).

This year’s results confirm the University of Warsaw’s consistently high standing and the trust that applicants place in the institution. The record number of applications shows that the UW’s academic programme meets the interests and needs of prospective students, and that the University remains the most popular choice for higher education in Poland.

The presented data is preliminary and partial. The final statistics on admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year will be published once all stages of the admissions process have been completed.
