On 3rd July, the UW Rector, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, met with Tomohide Karita, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Hiroshima. The discussions focused on opportunities for developing cooperation between the University of Warsaw and Japanese universities, including student and employee exchanges, as well as joint research and teaching projects.

“Japan is one of the University of Warsaw’s most important partners in Asia. We wish to develop cooperation with Japanese universities, increase the mobility of students and employees, and create joint research projects. It is equally important for us to build relationships with business partners and promote the potential of the University of Warsaw and Warsaw itself in Japan. I am convinced that today’s discussions open up new opportunities for cooperation,” said Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw.

The meeting also covered prospects for cooperation with the wider socio-economic community, as well as initiatives to promote the University of Warsaw and the capital city of Warsaw in Hiroshima and Tokyo. Discussions also centred on organising initiatives to showcase the potential of the University of Warsaw in Japan and that of Hiroshima universities in Warsaw, with a view to fostering the development of academic, scientific and economic ties between the two countries.
