From 8th December, an additional exit route to Oboźna Street will be available from the Main Campus of the University of Warsaw, which is intended to improve traffic flow in connection with the planned traffic restrictions on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street.
From 8th December, it will be possible to leave the UW’s Main Campus onto Oboźna Street in two directions:
- to the right – towards Karasia Street and Tamka Street,
- to the left – via Dynasy Street towards Topiel Street.
The temporary traffic organisation plan was approved by the Traffic Management Office of the City of Warsaw on 7th November 2025.
This change is the result of efforts by the UW authorities to launch a second exit route from the Central Campus, which is intended to improve traffic flow in connection with the planned restriction of traffic on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, which will ultimately be accessible mainly to public transport.
“The new exit route from the Main Campus is another step towards improving mobility at the UW. We want getting around the University to be convenient, intuitive and safe, especially in view of the traffic changes on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street. This is part of a broader plan to improve infrastructure and raise the standards of operation of the UW campuses,” emphasises Robert Grey, the UW Chancellor.
If the new traffic organisation proves successful in practice, it will be maintained as a permanent solution.
