The University of Warsaw has ranked among the top universities assessed in the Best Global Universities 2025–2026 ranking prepared by US News & World Report.
The University of Warsaw was ranked 468th in the Best Global Universities 2025–2026 ranking. The 11th edition of the list prepared by US News & World Report evaluated 2250 academic institutions from 105 countries.
The ranking takes into account 13 indicators such as global and regional research reputation, number of scientific publications, citability or international cooperation. The UW scored particularly highly in the categories of regional research reputation (8th place) and book publications (91st place).
In the field classification, the UW’s achievements were rated highly in the following areas:
- astronomy (first place in Poland, 81st in the world);
- physics (first place in Poland, 119th in the world);
- optics (first place in Poland, 184th in the world);
- computer science (first place in Poland, 199th in the world);
- biology and biochemistry (first place in Poland, 284th in the world);
- environment and ecology (first place in Poland, 395th in the world).
