Among the winners are two female scientists who will carry out their projects at the University of Warsaw.
In total, the ERC has so far awarded thirty-six grants implemented at the UW.
European Research Council (ERC) grants are awards given for ground-breaking research in a chosen scientific area. They are awarded by the European Union’s independent agency, the European Research Council, in five categories: Starting, Consolidator, Advanced, Proof of Concept and Synergy.
So far, three scientists affiliated with the University of Warsaw have received ERC Advanced Grants: Prof. Grażyna Jurkowlaniec from the Faculty of Arts and Culture at the University of Warsaw, Prof. Emanuel Gull from the University of Michigan (carrying out a project at the UW’s Faculty of Physics) and Prof. Andrzej Udalski from the UW’s Faculty of Physics and Astronomical Observatory.
