UW in rankings

On 22nd June, the results of Perspektywy Ranking 2021 were out. The 23 study programmes run by UW were recognised as best in Poland. UW came second in the ranking of the best universities in the country, following the Jagiellonian University.

 

Since the beginning of the ranking, the University of Warsaw and the Jagiellonian University (JU) have taken the first two places: UW occupied the first place ten times, and JU nine times. In 2015 and 2017-2018, both universities shared the first place equally.

 

Perspektywy Ranking by Subject

UW was ranked first in this year’s edition of the Perspektywy Ranking by Subject. The 23 study programmes were considered as best in Poland: Archaeology, Astronomy, Biology (UW and JU equally), Economics, Education, Journalism and Communication, Polish Studies, Physics, Geography (UW and Adam Mickiewicz University equally), Geology, History, Internal Security, Computer Science, Cultural Studies, Mathematics, Environmental Protection (UW and Adam Mickiewicz University equally), Political Science, Law (UW and JU equally), Psychology, Sociology, International Relations, and Management (UW and Koźmiński University equally).

 

According to Perspektywy, the 17 best study programmes are run by Warsaw University of Technology and 15 by the Jagiellonian University.

International rankings

Over the last months, the results of the most prestigious international rankings were published, e.g. QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education, Shanghai’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects and QS World University Rankings by Subject. According to the QS University Rankings, UW is considered the number one university in the country. The University of Warsaw occupied 308th place worldwide. More information >>

 

UW among the most international universities 2021

In January, UW has been ranked 123rd in a ranking featuring 172 the most international universities in the world in 2021. The ranking was compiled using data from the Times Higher World University Rankings. More information >>

 

International rankings by subject

In March, the University of Warsaw has been named as one of the world’s top universities for the study of 19 subjects, according to the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021. The University of Warsaw’s best performance is in Archaeology, Modern Languages, and Philosophy. More information >>

 

In May, the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), compiled by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, was out. Mathematics and Physics, run by the University of Warsaw, were ranked 76-100. Also, nine other UW subjects were included in the ranking. More information >>
