Visit by the UW Rector to the USA

Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, gave lectures at three prestigious American universities. The topics of the meetings at Stanford University, the University of California (Berkeley) and the University of California (San Francisco) centred on economic issues, EU matters and the use of artificial intelligence in medicine. Prof. Zygmunt Lalak, the UW Vice-Rector for Research, was also part of the delegation to the United States.

At the end of May, the Rector and the Vice-Rector for Research at the UW paid a visit to the United States. Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak delivered lectures at three renowned American universities: Stanford University, the University of California (Berkeley) and the University of California (San Francisco). The meetings, attended by around 200 participants, addressed issues relating to the global economy, the European Union and artificial intelligence in medicine.

 

The lectures were well received and provided an opportunity for discussions on the development of international relations, including specific cooperation agreements. Among those taking part in the trip was Prof. Jarosław Majewski from the UW’s Business Centre.

 

The Rector and Vice-Rector at the UW also attended the US-Polish Trade Council (USPTC) symposium at Stanford University in Palo Alto. The event was opened by Prof. Marek Gzik, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Prof. Piotr Moncarz, co-organiser of the USPTC, and Prof. Victoria Coleman.
