The Rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, visited Japan, where he met representatives of Shinshu University in Matsumoto, Daito Bunka University and International Christian University in Tokyo. The talks focused primarily on developing research cooperation and opportunities for staff, doctoral candidate and student exchanges. The UW Rector also visited the Kajima Institute of International Peace and gave an interview to Nikkei.
The first stop on Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak’s visit to Japan was Shinshu University in Matsumoto. The UW Rector gave lectures to students and met representatives of the university authorities and the School of Medicine. The talks focused on opportunities to develop joint research projects and academic cooperation.
The UW Rector then visited Daito Bunka University in Tokyo, where he met the university’s president and vice-presidents and gave a lecture to academic staff. One of the main topics discussed was the prospect of bilateral exchanges of staff, doctoral candidates and students, as well as the further development of research cooperation between the two universities.
Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak also visited the Kajima Institute of International Peace, a think tank conducting research on international and strategic issues. There, he met representatives of academia and former leaders of the Japanese business community.
While in Tokyo, the UW Rector also visited International Christian University, where he met the university’s president to discuss opportunities for joint research and exchanges of academic staff and students.
Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak also gave an interview to Nikkei, discussing the activities of the University of Warsaw and its international cooperation.
