UW Rector in the Scientific Council of the Military Institute of Medicine

Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, has been appointed to the Scientific Council of the Military Institute of Medicine – National Research Institute. The appointment ceremony by the Minister of National Defense took place on 13th August. The first meeting of the 8th-term Scientific Council of the Military Institute of Medicine – National Research Institute took place on 17th September. Council members elected, among other things, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, as its Head.

Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, and Cezary Tomczyk, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defense, presented appointments to the Scientific Councils of three key military healthcare institutes: the Military Institute of Medicine – National Research Institute, the Military Institute of Aviation Medicine, and the Military Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.

 

As emphasised in the Ministry’s information, this was an event of symbolic and strategic significance. The Scientific Council is the decision-making, consultative, and advisory body for each institute’s scientific and research and development activities. Its members influence the directions of research, development, and implementation relevant to the medical support of the army.

 

Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, has been appointed to the 8th-term Scientific Council of the Military Institute of Medicine – National Research Institute, which will operate from 16th August, 2025, to 15th August, 2029. The Rector serves in the Council pro bono.

Update: The first meeting of the 8th-term Scientific Council of the Military Institute of Medicine – National Research Institute took place on 17th September. The Council members elected, among other things, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, as its chairman.
