From 23rd-27th November 2020, the 4EU+ University Alliance is hosting the first ever 4EU+ Urban Health Case Challenge. In 2020, the challenge is about community resilience in times of COVID-19 and the external case provider is Gehl. On 27th November, everyone can join the 14 student teams from eight European cities when they present their solutions to the challenge.

The topic of urban community resilience in times of COVID-19 takes its point of departure in the community responses to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Together with a local team, participants are working on a solution to a given case question that was revealed on the case challenge’s first day, 23rd November. Ten students from the University of Warsaw, divided into two teams, will compete with teams from other universities to offer the best solution to this question. Each team will present its solution in front of an expert jury at a pitching session on the last day of the case challenge, 27th November.

The competition has been created to strengthen the university students’ competencies and commitment to solving real-world problems through practical, theoretical, innovative and interdisciplinary learning. In addition, the participants get the opportunity to engage in a highly topical case from the real world and work in an innovative and interdisciplinary manner.

The competition is being held from 23rd to 27th November 2020. The 14 teams, two from each of the 4EU+ cities (Milan, Paris, Heidelberg, Prague, Warsaw, Copenhagen) and one each from Uppsala and Trondheim, are a mix of BSc, MSc and PhD candidates from different study programmes. Due to the resent increase in COVID-19 numbers in Europe and travel restrictions, all joint activities will take place online.

During the week the teams are working to come up with the best solutions and on 27th November each team will be given five minutes to pitch their proposal followed by five minutes feedback from a jury.

Everyone is welcome to join the finale for the students’ presentations and the announcement of the winner on 27th November from 9:00 – 15:00 on Zoom >>
