The UW in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026

In this year’s Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings by Subject, the University of Warsaw was ranked in 27 disciplines. Among the highest-ranked are Classics and Ancient History as well as Modern Languages.

The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject identifies the world’s best universities for a given subject. This year, 55 academic disciplines across five subject areas were assessed: Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences & Management.

 

Over 1,700 institutions were included in the ranking.

 

The ranking features 27 academic disciplines taught at the University of Warsaw. Among the highest-ranked subjects are: Classics and Ancient History (ranked between 51st and 150th) and Modern Languages (92nd place).

Five disciplines taught at the UW have been included in the ranking for the first time. These are: Classics and Ancient History; Anthropology; Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies; Communication and Media Studies; Materials Science.
