Survey regarding equality at UW

Drukuj

UW employees, doctoral students and students can take part in the “Equal treatment at the University of Warsaw” survey. The survey will last until the end of March.

The University of Warsaw community is invited to share its experience on the equal treatment of women and men at the University and difficulties in combining work and private life.

Researchers, doctoral students and students can log in to their USOSweb and fill in the survey. Other employees of UW will receive an e-mail with a link to the survey or a paper version. The answers will help to create an equality plan for the University of Warsaw.

The survey is anonymous. After filling in the questionnaire, the answers are saved in a separate table and there is no possibility of connecting them with the person taking part in the survey. In addition, no one outside the narrow team of researchers has access to the collected data, and the results will be presented only in the form of aggregate statistical summaries.

The research is conducted by the Center for Research on Prejudice of the University of Warsaw and a specialist for equal treatment at the University of Warsaw as part of the Equality at UW project.

UW students and staff can take part an e-learning course devoted to the topic of equal treatment and combating discrimination. The course was developed by experts on equal treatment, and it provides practical information regarding, e.g. unequal treatment and its symptoms. The course is interactive. Upon completion, the participants will have a possibility to download a certificate confirming their knowledge of the subject of equal treatment. The course is available on the Kampus general university platform.

In 2011, the University of Warsaw appointed its ombudsman – a fully independent and neutral university officer, to whom students, faculty and administrative staff may turn for assistance in matters concerning the university and its community, in an informal and confidential manner. The role of the ombudsman is to support the staff and students in problem solving and see to it that all members of the academic community are treated fairly and honestly. More information
