The DeepMind scholarships will be awarded for the sixth time this year. The offer is aimed at students beginning master’s degree studies at the University of Warsaw who are interested in conducting research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and their applications. Applications should be sent by 19th October.
The Google DeepMind scholarships are intended for two students:
- starting master’s studies at the University of Warsaw in the 2026/2027 academic year in fields such as Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, Data Science and Business Analytics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or Biophysics,
- are experiencing financial hardship, understood as having an income per family member not exceeding 150% of the income threshold entitling a student to receive a needs-based social scholarship at the University of Warsaw,
- are citizens of a Member State of the European Union or have the right of residence in a Member State of the European Union.
The scholarship recipient will carry out a research project leading to the preparation of a master’s thesis. The project will be conducted under the supervision of an academic staff member employed by the University of Warsaw.
The scholarship is awarded for a period of 24 months and includes a fixed monthly payment of approximately $1,200, as well as additional funds totaling $6,400 intended for the purchase of equipment necessary for the project, and participation in conferences and other academic trips.
Research project concept
The recruitment process will take place in the second half of October. By that time, individuals interested in participating in the program should identify a potential project supervisor and prepare a preliminary idea for a research project. At the application stage, a fully developed research project is not expected; rather, a well-justified concept is required – one that can subsequently be expanded upon in collaboration with the supervisor.
Applications can be submitted from October 12 to 19 at deepmindfellow@mimuw.edu.pl.
