Programming contest in Thailand

The 2016 ACM-ICPC World Finals will take place on 19th May in Phuket. The team from the University of Warsaw will participate in that contest.

The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC) is an annual team-based programming competition among the universities of the world. In this year 128 teams from the best universities (regional contests winners) will be competing in order to become masters. 3 teams out of them are from Polish universities – the University of Warsaw, the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, the University of Wrocław.

 

3 students from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics: Wojciech Nadara, Marcin Smulewicz and Marek Sokołowski will represent the UW. The team is called “Warsaw Eagles”.

 

The contest has begun on 15th May and it will last six days. The 2016 ACM-ICPC World Finals will take place on 19th May from 4.30 to 10.00 Polish time (from 9.30 to 15.00 local time).

 

Prof. Jan Madey, Prof. Krzysztof Diks from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics and Vice-Rector for Resources and Lifelong Learning – Prof. Tadeusz Tomaszewski will be accompanying the UW team.
