For four weeks participants of the summer course, organised by ‘Polonicum’, have been learning Polish language and getting to know Polish culture. At the end of the course they danced Polonaise.
Almost 200 people from all over the word participated in the 62nd edition of the summer course organised by the Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners ‘Polonicum’. They came from, among others, Australia, Canada, Brazil, China, Vietnam, France, Italy, Russia, Germany and Czech Republic.
In the course, there were eighteen groups at all levels of proficiency, from (A1) beginner to (C2) proficiency. In some of the groups, two lecturers were teaching alternately. The number of participants in one group ranged between 8 and 12 participants.
The programme included, besides Polish language classes, cycles of lectures, seminars, workshops, film and audiovisual presentations. Students could take part in phonetic workshops, literature seminars, language and culture seminars, text-study activities, language board games and many other activities.
Also, participants had some walking tours in Warsaw, visited museums, and had lessons how to dance Polonaise.
The course concluded with the Polonaise dance performed by the participants in the UW Library garden.
