Physicist in New Europe 100

Doctor Grzegorz Brona from the Faculty of Physics of the UW has been included in the New Europe 100 featuring the changemakers in Central and Eastern Europe.

 

100 finalists from 15 European countries are on the list of the most innovative people and organisations, New Europe 100. They are region’s leaders who are displaying innovation, entrepreneurship and fresh approaches to current problems.

 

The list was created by the Res Publica journal, the International Visegrad Fund, the Financial Times and Google. Organisers selected 100 challengers from nominations, which were sent by national institutions, think thanks and the public, representing four categories: business, media and culture, science, and society and politics.

 

Over 20 Polish people have been on the most recent edition of the New Europe 100. Among them is Doctor Grzegorz Brona from the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, who was chosen in the category science. Polish scholar specializes in quantum theory and the space technology. He combines scientific work and business. He is a co-founder of Creotech Instruments. In the past Doctor Grzegorz Brona worked at the European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN where was responsible for the software for the radiation detectors and management of the research team working at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
