At the University of Warsaw, initiatives are being developed to support the responsible use of artificial intelligence in research and teaching. The launch of new AI tools within Google Workspace for Education marks another step toward improving the quality of education and strengthening the digital competencies of the academic community.

At the University of Warsaw, activities are also being carried out to promote responsible and informed use of artificial intelligence in the processes of learning and academic work. As AI-based tools play an increasingly important role in the academic environment, broad access to modern technologies is becoming an important factor in enhancing the quality of both research and teaching.

In the @uw.edu.pl and @student.uw.edu.pl domains, an artificial intelligence service has been launched as part of the Google Workspace for Education package. As a result of this implementation, members of the university community have gained access to AI tools—NotebookLM and Gemini—supporting research and teaching.

“Providing these new functionalities is an important step toward strengthening the digital competencies of the academic community and developing modern methods of teaching and conducting research, while respecting the principles of ethics and technological security,” says prof. Maciej Raś, UW Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching and Learning
