Inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year at the University of Warsaw

The inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year at the University of Warsaw will begin on 1st October at 2:00 PM. The ceremony, attended by university authorities and invited guests, will take place in the Auditorium Maximum on the Main Campus on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street. The inaugural lecture will be delivered by doctoral candidate Konrad Zieliński, founder of the start-up Uhura Bionics.

The inauguration of the new academic year at the University of Warsaw will take place on 1st October at 2:00 PM in the Adam Mickiewicz Hall in the Auditorium Maximum on the University of Warsaw campus on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street. The ceremony will be opened by Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw.

 

A permanent part of the event is matriculation – the induction of new students at the University. First-cycle, second-cycle, and doctoral candidates who achieved the highest scores in the admissions process will take the oath. The University of Warsaw Rector will hand over to them traditional student record books. The inauguration will also include speaches from the representatives of students and doctoral candidates.

 

The inaugural lecture on modern technologies in the service of humanity and the mission of cognitive science will be delivered by Konrad Zieliński – a graduate of cognitive science at the University of Warsaw, a doctoral candidate at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School, and the founder of the start-up Uhura Bionics, whose team created and developed an AI module for speech conversion. In 2019, Konrad Zieliński was included in Forbes magazine’s “25 Under 25” list of the most entrepreneurial young Poles.
