Final Chopin concert

On 6th November British pianist – Benjamin Grosvenor will play masterpieces of eminent composers. The concert is organized on the occasion of the UW jubilee.

 

Since January four great pianists from Germany, Austria, Russia and US performed at the University of Warsaw and played compositions of Chopin and other outstanding pianists. This time Benjamin Grosvenor from Great Britain will be playing masterpieces of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Alexander Scriabin, Fryderyk Chopin and Franz Liszt.

 

Benjamin Grosvenor is one of the leading British classical pianists. When he was eleven he came to prominence as the great winner of the Keyboard Final of the 2004 BBC Young Musician Competition. In 2016 he was announced as the inaugural recipient of The Ronnie and Lawrence Ackman Classical Piano Prize with the New York Philharmonic. Benjamin Grosvenor performed with many orchestras, among others, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic, RAI Torino, Philharmonia Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhausorchester, Tokyo Symphony. He also played in places such as the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Centre, Singapore’s Victoria Hall, The Frick Collection and Carnegie Hall.

 

The concert will begin on 6th November at 17.00 in Auditorium Maximum (Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28).

 

Tickets (60 PLN) one can purchase in the office of the Universitatis Varsoviensis Foundation. Students, employees can pick up tickets for free.
