A cetacean from the Lublin region – University of Warsaw

A reconstruction of the appearance of the cetacean from near Lubartów and a comparison of its size with that of an adult human. During the Eocene, cetaceans still had visible dorsal fins, and their bodies were not covered in a thick layer of blubber due to the much higher temperatures of the oceans at that time. The remains of a cetacean dating back 38 million years have been discovered in the Lublin Voivodeship.
