UW–NTU collaboration

The representatives of the University and Warsaw and National Taiwan University signed an Agreement on Scholarly Exchange and Collaboration.

National Taiwan University is the most prestigious comprehensive university in Taiwan. More than 30 000 students and doctoral students, including over 5 000 from abroad, are educated there. It cooperates with 6 000 global partners. NTU performs well in international rankings. In Academic Ranking of World Universities, it was ranked between 151-200.

 

Cooperation between UW and NTU began in 2004 when both universities signed an agreement regarding the exchange of academic employees, students, conducting joint research, and organizing international conferences. Ten years later, they concluded an additional agreement on the exchange of students.

 

On 13th September, both universities decided to enhance their cooperation in the of education and academic research. Prof. Marcin Pałys, Rector of UW and Dr. Chung-Ming KUAN, President of NTU concluded the Agreement on Scholarly Exchange and Collaboration.

 

 

Thanks to the UW-NTU agreement it will be possible to:

  • enable students, non-teaching and post-graduate fellows, and junior and senior faculty members to take part in exchange visits;
  • organise joint conferences and academic programmes;
  • exchange information and materials in those fields which are of interest to both universities;
  • arrange joint research activities and publications.

The delegation from Taiwan had a meeting with the representatives of the UW faculties and research units, e.g. the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics, Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling, Biological and Chemical Research Centre, and Centre of New Technologies.
